Upon first glance she appears quiet and reserved
Her smile captures your attention, allowing you to see her friendly nature
Yet she refrains herself from giving an immediate invitation
Slowly she opens the door to her heart, but just enough to peer through
Before she can gently reach out her hand offering her friendship
She must first know if your virtue is genuine and true
With caution she waits patiently searching for this morality within you
Carefully she watches your interactions with the world around us
Once she is able to ascertain that honesty is a part of your essence
She willingly opens the door further, allowing you to step in
You can't impress her with social status, money, materialist jewels or the clothes you wear
Your integrity is all that matters
Don't be fooled by her initial reservation or smile
She will not tolerate any injustice spoken or shown
If you dare commit such a wrong, her wrath you will hear
For she defends what is right regardless of gossip and judgement passed by others
She is not complicated, but she is complex
It is difficult to decipher her thoughts
For her soul is not an open book
But when it comes to where her loyalty and love lies
It is so very easy to comprehend where she stands on these matters of the heart
For her eyes reveal the love held within her soul
And to see it, you just need to mention his name
If you are blessed to truly know her and see her just as she is
You will see that the shadow she casts upon the ground and in her heart
Is that of the Raven ... Spirited and True
