I felt that

Even though you never said anything out loud

I felt that

I felt it when you walked by me like we were strangers

I felt it when you kept your eyes veered in the opposite direction each time I looked your way

I felt it when you kept your distance even when we were standing close

I felt it when you purposefully decided to keep your back towards me ... childish move

I felt it when you shunned my friend in front of me

And again when the tears ran down my face because I didn’t know who you were in that moment

It felt terrible and so sad to see someone I thought I knew … repeating this behaviour three fold ... all weekend long

I felt that … over and over

I watched you played the role of someone kind to many folks around me … even moments after you cunningly made another feel unwelcome

I see your true colours now

I felt it when you finally stopped to say something just to subtly declare you see me and drive your point home

You’re smirky smile … its not pretty or kind and yes I felt it’s smug intent

I heard you say goodbye but didn’t look back because my eyes were already starting to show the hurt … but I heard your words and I can only say this … Keep your thoughts and prayers for yourself darling … because you’re going to need them when the energy of that day comes back to you.
