It took courage

I always thought I was weak ... but maybe I was brave

I never backed down ... even when I was scared ... and so very small

I never coward ... I stood my ground protecting the tiny ones

Without guidance I knew what was happening was wrong ... I somehow managed to find a way to a circle ... a safe place for us all

Even though you crushed me in every way a person can be crushed ... I never backed down from a fight ... I may not have always won ... but I always stood my ground

It took courage ... love ... and a willingness to protect.
